Boing!! Sounds, Colors, Shapes
A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT BOING!!
The groundwork for this exhibit was laid over the course of Michael Bradke’s many years of work with schoolchildren transforming pictures into music in the Museum Kunstpalast in Dusseldorf. He has also carried out projects and given educational seminars, interactive public presentations and performances on the relationship between art and music in numerous prestigious museums, including the following:
- Kunstsammlung NRW Düsseldorf
- Museum Ludwig Köln
- Wilhelm Hack Museum Mannheim
- Pinakothek der Moderne München
- Kunstmuseum Bonn
- Lehmbruckmuseum Duisburg
- Sprengelmuseum Hannover
The first version of this MMM exhibition came about in 1997-1999 in cooperation with the following:
- 1997 Sprengelmuseum Hannover
- 1998 Kindermuseum im Lehmbruck-Museum Duisburg
- 1999 Galerie im Kinderspielhaus, Dusseldorf
It has also been exhibited as part of the following larger exhibits:
- 2000 Deutsches Hygiene Museum Dresden
- 2001 Kinder- und Jugendmuseum München
- 2001 Musikmesse Frankfurt
The exhibition consists of about 10 interactive sound sculptures and a collection of pictures that can potentially take the place of the “museum originals” if the exhibit is presented in institutions without their own collections.
